After multiple reschedules due to the fierce rain in Bangalore and its outskirts, the trip to Bidarakatte finally dawned at 5 AM IST on September 9, 2022.

Niraj Kedar planned the trip meticulously. The drive was exciting and the roads were good for the most part but for the few patches, in the interior locales, that slowed us a wee bit. Many interesting conversations kept us awake and attentive.

The first sighting of the peaks was just so beautiful as the mist that crowned the peaks of the Savandurga hills slowly swept down and engulfed the entire hill.

The Savandurga hills is a monolith and located about 48kms from Bangalore.

Frankly, I was not prepared for the climb that was waiting. After the initial flat manoeuvres the climb the first stop was steep. Me went huffing and puffing lugging the backpack and tripod with short stops to catch my breath. The rock surface was wet and we had to be slow and careful. But at every level of the climb I found many photo ops coming our way… Hope you will enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed photographing them.
